1: Synopsis of subjects
Dated back to 2000 and developed for several years, refrigeration and cryogenics engineering major has been to scientific research department in many marine fields such as marine refrigeration, marine air conditioning, ice thermal storage, refrigeration transportation technology and Absorption refrigeration technology etc. The teaching and research team, including three professors, eight associate professors (one postdoctoral tutor and five doctors in the team), is excellent in the major. And the experiment laboratories, such as the refrigeration transportation lab, the ice thermal storage lab, the marine air-conditioning simulation lab, the thermodynamics lab and waste heat lab, are all at the service for the students and researchers.
In recent years, the research funding of the department is enough, we has won the first prize of PLA science and technology Progress Award, the second prize of scientific and technological progress of the Ministry of Education, the second and the third prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, and shanghai Excellent Teaching Achievement Award and more than a dozen awards on provinces , ministerial Technology and invention Award. In recent five years, we have public published more than 500 academic papers at home and abroad, many of them are included in SCI, EI and ISTP. The outstanding achievements contain ice slurry producing technology, refrigeration transportation technology and the marine air-conditioning simulation , automatic control technology and new style of absorption refrigeration technology , etc..
2: Educational objectives
The objective of the refrigeration and cryogenics engineering is to train the students for whole roles such as moral, intellectual and physical education, to make them talent in the design, research, tutor and management of the refrigeration and marine air conditioning technology. Applicants should meet the detail requirements as the follows:
1. Support china communist leadership and the socialist system, obey the law with good conducts. Master the basic principle of Marxism, Mao Zedong Thought , earnestly study Deng Xiaoping Theory, adhere to the four cardinal principles, love the motherland, have the strong dedication and commitment, have the good character of serve the construction of socialist modernization. Master the basic principle of refrigeration and air conditioning and practical skills.
2.With a wide range of knowledge and a strong ability to work, in the refrigeration and cryogenics technology fields, master specialized knowledge of the basic theory and system, Sufficient theories of the major to understand the trends of the major development. And strong responsibility and enterprise to do the job well, master a foreign language and can use it fluently.

Introduction
Literature Reading:
According to its research area, postgraduates should read a certain amount of Chinese or Foreign language material and master research fronts of course development during their study, integrating with tutor’s scientific research and their own need of dissertation project selection.
6.The graduates’ practical ability education of this discipline
This discipline pay attention to the combination of the theory knowledge and the practical ability. Practice is the most important part of the graduate students’ education. In order to make the graduate students can make good use of the theory and enhance their ability to work independently, every graduate student must take part in social practice actively.
The graduate students should do scientific research or take all-sided training of special technical work , and training them to have the ability to find question , analysis question and solve question by using all the knowledge they learned and the science innovation ability. The graduate students should take part in their tutor’ research project , choose and attend the subject with important application value of our discipline, and attend the lab construction or take practice on the ship, take part of the undergraduate teaching assistant practice. The degree paper must reflect the new knowledge and understanding earned by practice, and the graduates must ensure the quality of the degree paper.
